Wilson’s more 25 years in advertising spans across corporate, FMCG, public service and retail accounts. He has worked for several of the country’s big agencies including The Agency and Lowe Bull. He started out as a junior copywriter at Grey Advertising in 1990 and later worked in various other agencies; rising to Creative Group Head position at Y&R Johannesburg.
He left Y&R in 2009, for a freelance stint as communication strategist and copywriter. He joined June15 Advertising as an Executive Creative Director in 2012 until 2016. From 2016 he worked he joined O’Brian Communications as a Senior Copywriter. He left in 2018 and has since then been working as freelance copywriter/creative director.
Wilson has read English Literature (MA - 2019), Marketing and Accounting (B Com –2015) and Marketing at postgraduate level (BCom honours – 2020) at the University of the Witwatersrand.
He currently works as a freelance CD/copywriter/Creative strategist.
